Men’s gifting brand Izola (pronounced eye-zola) is a skincare, fine fragrance and grooming store.
It stocks a number of different products including fragrances, hair care, skincare, grooming, shower and bath gels, eau de toilettes, home fragrances, hand sanitiser and beard oil.
The Izola brand was originally born in New York selling men’s gifts before moving to Brooklyn. Atlantic Folk, the company that owns Izola, acquired the brand in 2019 and relaunched it as a skincare and fragrance brand.
The Atlantic Folk business is based in King’s Lynn and co-owned by husband and wife team Hugo and Bella Middleton and Bella’s brother Jude Ludgate. It has been in business for 10 years, manufacturing skincare products that are distributed by well-known, premium retail outlets such as John Lewis, Harrods and Liberty. All its products are made in the King’s Lynn HQ, with the vast majority of materials being sourced from the UK.
Izola’s first floor studio is home to barber service Studio AVOCA, run by Chris Kemp, currently open for bookings on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Chris specialises in men’s long hair but welcomes both male and female clients. Each of his bookings last for an hour as he delivers an unrushed, holistic experience that includes ambient music, tea and coffee and the opportunity for a relaxed chat.
Studio AVOCA prides itself on the variety of clients it attracts, its positive attitudes and inclusiveness. Chris advocates talking about mental health and Studio AVOCA supports the LGBTQ+ community, offering a creative, safe space for clients and professionals alike.
Chris plans to increase the number of days that Studio AVOCA’s Izola studio opens in the coming weeks. Studio AVOCA also has a barber shop and tattoo studio on City Road in Norwich.
