Norfolk production companies and TV personalities short-listed
We are delighted that Yalm has been chosen to host the Royal Television Society (RTS) East Awards 2023 on Monday 19 June.
The awards recognise excellence in TV in a number of different categories. All of the nominees have a direct connection to the East which encompasses Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Nominated programmes must be either made by a production company based in one of these six counties in the East or more than 55% of the programme must have been filmed here. For the personality categories, the nominees must either be from or based in the East or feature in an East-based production.
The awards will be hosted by well-known Norwich comedian, and one half of the Nimmo Twins, Karl Minns.
Rachel Watson, Chair of RTS East, said, “Our awards are a highlight of the television year in the East of England and we are delighted to be bringing them to the Royal Arcade in Norwich for 2023. We chose Yalm for our event because it’s such an upbeat and welcoming venue, housed in the beautiful and historic Royal Arcade right here in the centre of the city. It’s going to a perfect setting for our awards.”
Dan Searle, Operations Manager of Yalm said, “We are so pleased to be hosting this prestigious event and are looking forward to welcoming a number of familiar faces from the TV to Yalm. Norwich is known as a hub of creativity so it’s great that so many of the nominees hail from here or have been filmed here. Events like this are exactly what Norwich needs and we hope that this is the first of many.”
