Our food hall, Yalm, is to welcome Christophe’s Kitchen, a second location for Christophe’s Crepes, to its ground floor conveyor belt bar, opening on Tuesday 16 January from 12-10pm.
Christophe’s Crepes has been operating from premises on Pottergate, in the city centre, since 2020 and a food truck for street and event catering since 2011, serving their take on traditional French-style crepes with sweet and savoury fillings.
Chris Smith and his wife Lauren are the husband and wife team who run the business. They decided to set up a crepes business in Norwich because Chris’s Nan, Thelma, always cooked pancakes and it was his favourite food. The move to Yalm means that customers will now be able to get a ‘Christophe crepe’ in Norwich late into the evening, even after the Pottergate shop closes.
As well as serving crepes, Christophe’s Kitchen will also offer stacked pancakes, 12 mini Dutch pancakes and French Toast. Customers will be able to choose from the same range of delicious toppings for all of these.
As well as Christophe’s classic toppings such as Lemon & Sugar, Maple Syrup and Nutella with Banana or Strawberry, there will also be toppings for the more adventurous such as Caramel Apple Bomb, (caramelised apple with demerara sugar cinnamon), Biscoff Bae (Belgian white chocolate, crushed lotus biscuit, strawberry and Biscoff spread), Berries and Bacon (smoked bacon, Canadian maple syrup, fresh berries and banana), Banoffee (banana toffee, white chocolate and crumbled lotus biscuits) and Berries and Cream (mixed berries compote and thick double cream with crunchy demerara sugar).
And on the conveyor belt there’ll be baked desserts such as Apple Caramel Cake, Chocolate Nutella and Hazelnut Tart, Crepe Cheese Cake in a variety of flavours and Profiteroles along with milkshakes that come in Vanilla, Chocolate, Pistachio, Mega Berry and Fresh Banana flavours and Chocolate Brownie, Midnight Mint and Eton Mess sundaes.
